1999 (NSFW) - Rebelle 3 - Surface Studio

Speed painting as a test of new settings in Rebelle 3.

This is another experiment using Rebelle 3. The first experiment is with the canvas which is actually a combination of two different canvas types. The main reason for this is because canvas types matter in the sense that, like real world counterparts, paint reacts differently depending on which canvas is used in combination with pressure applied and water usage. This particular combination was also used for this image (which will be discussed in depth at a future date)...

Along Came A Spider...

I like the texture of this canvas and acrylic paints react really well to it. The other part of the experiment was with the blending of color. To achieve the blending desired the Rebelle 3 blender brushes were used in combination with layer effects and more water. The blender tools alone in Rebelle 3 are capable of great results but there was a subtle quality I wanted with the 1999 project that the blender brushes weren't quite capturing. Combining those brushes with a layer blend selection and adding more water to the canvas helped achieved the desired results.

The experimentation continues...
