Philadelphia Comic Con 2019
After attending ECBACC (East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention) this year, plans were made to attend the Philly ComicCon too. Due to circumstances, I nearly missed it until my father said we should go on Father's day saying "Next year isn't promised to us" when I stated I could go next year. So off we went and even though we didn't spend a lot of time there, it was a fun time.
Due to the crowd, we only got a chance to talk to two artists there, Joseph Zhou, who had a great series of illustrations and designs created in photoshop. His site can be found here...www.josephzhou.art.
I also spoke with Shawn Alleyne who can be found on Facebook under Pyroglyphics Studio. Ironically, I came across Shawn's table at the ECBACC convention this year but he was away leading a panel so I never got a chance to meet him in person until my father and I came across his table again at the ComicCon and I recognized his work.
Due to circumstances at the venue, I didn't get a chance to really take time to look around, talk to people and capture photos like I normally do, which is unfortunate. There is always something extraordinary waiting to be found and incredible people to meet if we only take time to notice them. Paying attention and patience are true virtues. Hopefully, more can be done next year. But one aspect that never disappoints at conventions like these is the cosplay. It's an art
form in itself.
